American actor and musician Awkwafina began her career with hilarious rap tracks that tackled racial identity and sexuality with boldly comedic perspective before expanding her reach into Hollywood. Nora Lum was born to Chinese Koreans living from Forest Hills Queens. Her first encounter with music was from the trumpet. After a classical and jazz education, she delved into hip-hop as a teen.
