Robyn Rihanna, better known as Rihanna in Barbados, is a Barbadian artist and performer who has given us popular songs such as Pon de Replay Umbrella SOS and Take a Bow. She is a very popular artist who has sold over 41 million albums across the globe and more than 150 million songs. Born in Barbados, she was able to appreciate reggae music and began singing in the midst of her childhood. She was disturbed by the turmoil in her family, and by the frequent disputes with her father. Therefore, she decided to get involved in music. When she was still in high school she joined a musical group and was asked to audition for Evan Rodgers. The producer was impressed by the talents of this young lady. She relocated into New York so that she was able to pursue a full-time singing career. Rihanna's debut album was shortly released and Rihanna became a hit with the public within a short time. She was a favorite amongst the youth for her peppy dance music, which was a hit. This led to Rihanna becoming a director. Pretty young and highly talented Rihanna is now regarded as a teen idol and a fashion icon. Rihanna uses her fame to great use through being taking part in various charity causes.
